Medtronic Expands Class I Recall of Insulin Pumps

October 1, 2021 – Bayer has recalled all unexpired Lotrimin® AF and Tinactin® spray products distributed between September 2018 to September 2021, with lot number beginning with TN, CV, or NAA. This recall does not affect Lotrimin or Tinactin creams.

  • There is no impact to members through Benecard Central Fill. Lotrimin® AF and Tinactin® spray products are sold over the counter as anti-fungal medications.
  • The recalled products may contain benzene, a human carcinogen (cancer-causing agent). Bayer has stated that the recall is a precautionary measure, and that the detected benzene levels "are not expected to cause adverse health consequences in consumers." As of the recall date, Bayer had received no reports of adverse events related to the affected products.
  • Bayer is working with distributors and to arrange returns of all recalled products. Consumers in possession of the recalled products can request a refund at lotrimin.com or tinactin.com. Consumer questions should be directed to Bayer at 1-866-360-3266.
    • Consumers in possession of recalled product should stop using it.
    • A photo of the recalled product is required to receive a refund.
    • After the refund process has been completed, consumers should properly dispose of the recalled product.
    • Bayer advises consumers to contact their healthcare provider if they have experienced any problems that may be related to using recalled products.
